Volunteer with us

The Apollo Foundation aims to develop curriculums, raise funds, and foster awareness for impoverished schools and children through the support of our volunteers. Registered with the Corporation of National and Community Service, the Apollo Foundation is proud to present the Presidential Volunteer Service Award to volunteers who serve our foundation. Furthermore, Apollo Foundation volunteers around the world are eligible for awards in accordance with their country. Ready to volunteer? Make sure to read information about the Volunteer Departments and its roles, then, simply sign-up and chose your desired volunteer role, chapter (if applicable), and the reasoning for why you deserve the volunteer role.

Virtual Support

We are looking for individuals interested in supporting our foundation virtually. Especially during the Covid-19 outbreak, online volunteers spread our foundation in different areas of the internet by means of advertisements, event outreach, and online tutoring. Online Volunteers can do all of this from home!

Volunteering

Having a strong volunteer team on the ground is vital. We have opportunities for tutoring, managing fundraisers, searching for sponsors/partners, and much more. All opportunities give you the potential to grow in numerous aspects such as leadership and communication.

Chapters

We highly encourage ambitious individuals around the world to start chapters in their region. Doing so will give you and your peers the opportunity to lead and get first-hand experience in working as a non-profit business, while also building your overall resume. Becoming a Chapter with the Apollo Foundation is highly prestigious. If interested, simply contact the Executive Board with your inquiry.

Volunteer Departments

Our management team has spent hours crafting a large variety of opportunities for our dedicated volunteers. These opportunities are both fun and engaging; with an overall aim to provide for the impoverished. Opportunities come from remote tutoring and online communication to hands-on opportunities on the field in areas such as fundraising, outreach, and advertising. Our chapters are encouraged to implement these volunteer opportunities wherever necessary.

Fundraising Department

The purpose of this department is to effectuate fundraising operations and to secure monetary donations for our initiatives and beneficiaries. This will be done by making tremendous breakthroughs in the areas of social media, community outreach, corporate sponsorships, and volunteer recruitment. The department will have three openings for the three Public Relations roles that will be assigned to this department:

Sponsorship Development Volunteer
The Sponsorship Development Volunteer will have the role of securing sponsorships for our Chapters and organization as a whole. This volunteer role is inter-departmental, the volunteer will reside in two Apollo Foundation departments: Public Relations and Fundraising. The role has been designed in this way because the volunteer will have to communicate with the Public Relations department to handle communications and will also have to communicate with the Fundraising department to discuss financing.

Fundraising VIPC/Recruitment Volunteer
The Fundraising VIPC/Recruitment Volunteer of our department will be in charge of recruiting and verifying volunteers who will be able to fundraise for our organization. The Fundraising VIPC volunteer should be a person that is a good judge of character and can tell whether or not somebody has the genuine ability to take initiative and be proactive in their fundraising endeavors.

General Fundraising Volunteer
The General Fundraising Volunteer of our department will be in charge of helping when it comes to planning and managing charity fundraisers in Apollo Foundation’s various Chapters as well as finding other creative ways to secure donations for our organization. This volunteer will have to synchronize their work with the work of the Social Media Volunteers in order to more efficiently create funds for the organization.

Public Relations Department

The Public Relations department will entail expanding our organization’s abilities to effectuate public relations and to advertise our cause. This will be done by making tremendous breakthroughs in the areas of social media, community outreach, corporate sponsorships, and volunteer recruitment. The Public Relations department consists of:

VIPC/Recruitment Volunteer
The Public Relations VIPC/Recruitment Volunteer of our department will be in charge of recruiting volunteers for the Public Relations Department and help create Chapters that can spread our organization’s message and purpose throughout the world. The Public Relations VIPC should be a person that is a good judge of character and can tell whether or not somebody has the so-called “marketing gene” that would make a person a more effective advertiser within their communities.

Social Media/General Outreach Volunteer
The Social Media/General Outreach Volunteer of our department will be in charge of managing and posting on personal or newly created social media accounts as well as effectively communicating with anybody who shows interest in our organization. This volunteer will also work very closely with the Executive Board to strengthen and synchronize our online web presence.

Sponsorship Development Volunteer
The Sponsorship Development Volunteer will have the role of securing sponsorships for our Chapters, based on the region you live in.

Operations Department

The Operations Department focuses on providing the immediate needs of the receiving end of our foundation. We support students and underprivileged schools in Cameroon, East Africa, the Middle East, and various regions in India, so as it may seem clear, actual tutoring videos and worksheets are in need. Listed are several volunteer positions:

Video Creation Volunteer
The department’s Video Creation Volunteer will contain many responsibilities, including the general facet of creating tutorial videos which will be listed on the Apollo Foundation’s YouTube channel upon verification for the underprivileged our organization serves. Specifically, this volunteer will be required to pick one subject (curriculum) and thereby being assigned to it, he or she will then be encouraged to create 5 videos per topic to to potentially be included on the Apollo Foundation's YouTube channel.

Operations VIPC/Recruitment Volunteer
The Operations VIPC/Recruitment Volunteer will be in charge of the immediate care of interested applicants to this department. The Project/Initiative Operations Department will be an attractive volunteering department to potential volunteers, thus, the VIPC volunteer is encouraged to look for potential volunteers and recruit them to the Project/Initiative Operations Department.

Worksheet Creation Volunteer
The Worksheet Creation Volunteer will have the role of creating worksheets to engage and effectively teach the underprivileged students the Apollo Foundation serves. Simply put, this volunteer must be exceptionally creative in terms of forming worksheets to gage knowledge and ensure it is taught in a constructive manner. This role has been designed in order to complete the whole protocol of the edification and enlightenment of impoverished students across the globe, for that reason the worksheets are the finalizing/deciding factor for the knowledge/absorption of a new topic.

Video Dubbing/Translation Volunteer (Requires Acceptance)
The Video Dubbing/Translation Volunteer will take part in and will be in charge of translating videos to fit the needs and comprehension of the many underprivileged students Apollo Foundation supports internationally. Apollo Foundations supports schools and underprivileged students in West Africa (Cameroon), East Africa, India, and the Middle East, therefore, as one could imagine, the diversity/variety of languages spoken is large.
